“Texan Musher”
For Time- 6 Min Cap
250yd sled push/pull
RX: 80% of teams total body weight
SC: 60% of teams total body weight
This event will have time slots available to each team throughout the day. Teams must sign up for their desired time slot before the first event starts. Teams that register first will have top priority of when they will go. Once both teammates have registered and paid, that team will get put next on the list.
Texan Musher is simple, yet brutal. This will be a test of your power output in relation to your bodyweight and the will to keep pushing through the burn. Teams will be required to move the sled 250 yards. You will be supplied a sled with a strap, harness, and two uprights. You may not alter the sled in any way and must use the supplied harness (no belts). Teams may decide who pushes and who pulls, and can switch positions during the event if desired (this event will come down to the tenth of a second so I wouldn't recommend switching). There will be a start/finish line painted on the pavement behind the gym by the ramp. The sled must start fully behind the line, but athletes may be in front of the line. Once the sled touches the line, time will start. Athletes will move the sled the full 250 yards following the specified course in above video (first left, then all the way around the outside until back at the line). Time will stop once the sled (not athletes) is FULLY past the finish line. Athletes must weigh in the day of, or before, to compete this year.
Sled weight will be calculated as follows. (Athlete 1 bodyweight + athlete 2 bodyweight) x 80% (60% for scaled) then rounded up to the nearest 5 lbs. Sled will be loaded with this weight minus 85lbs (weight of the sled). For example: Athlete 1 weighs 177 lbs and athlete 2 weighs 132 lbs. Team total weight= 309 lbs. RX weight pulled would be 247.2 (309*80%) rounded up to 250 lbs (or 165 lbs on the sled). SC weight pulled would be 185.4 (309*60%) rounded up to 190 lbs (or 105 lbs on the sled). Time to start cutting those desserts (or beers for some of you) out of your diet ;)
